Interesting article on energy storage. I suppose 3 metrics to measure storage efficiency today:
1) Power per volume (Volume efficiency)
2) Power per time (Charging-discharging efficiency)
3) Power per rupee (considering full lifecycle cost)

If we can improve the above metrics, how will we be affected? Both macro and personal repercussions

1) Macro: Renewable energy will become more viable. Renewable energy banks on storage banks - for wind- store the gale force for times of calm weather; for solar - to store the sun's energy for the dark hours. Quiet electric cars will pack the highways.
2) Personal: We will be free of the perpetually nagging worry of the level of phone charge.
